If you've made a choice in your life to stop drinking, I'm sure you had some good reasons for it. But if you're feeling tempted and thinking of some excuses as to why it's okay to have a drink, try to remember why you quit in the first place. If you can't seem to think of the reasons, here are 5 good ones for you:
1) It's expensive. You spend a lot of money when you're partying. If you're going out for the night you have to account for; paying to get into an establishment/cover charge, the overpriced drinks they serve and the cost of a cab ride at the end of the night. If you're someone who gets out of control when they drink, you may be looking at an expensive public intoxication fine as well.

2) The calories. And they're not just regular calories, they're empty calories, which means you're filling up without gaining any of the nutritional value you would from eating something like a salad. In addition, calories from alcohol tend to be stored as fat around your tummy, ultimately leading to the beer belly.

3) The hangover. There's no cure or vaccination for a hangover so it's something you can always count on. If you go out drinking the night before, your next morning, if not your whole day, is going to be less productive.

4) The things you say you shouldn't. Nothing's worse than the loose lips that come with alcohol. Letting a secret out or saying something rude to someone is all too common when it comes to being drunk. Staying sober will allow you to wake up in the morning without the feeling of dread washing over you when you think "what did I say last night?"

5) The: "it seemed like a good idea at the time". Whether someone's trying to be funny, cool or they just think they have a brilliant idea, if they're under the influence, they usually wake up regretting it the next morning. Your thought process isn't as clear when you're drunk and the consequences aren't as apparent until you have to deal with them the next day.

If you're a recovering addict and you can't seem to talk yourself out of having a drink, it may be a good idea to go to a meeting or call your sponsor. Think about what you'll be risking if you have that first sip.
